Benefits of a screened porch in DeBary FL

Living in Volusia County is pretty great. We have the beautiful St. Johns River, the fun path at the Spring-to-Spring Trail, and the manatees over in Orange City’s Blue Spring State Park. But let’s be honest, Florida has two seasons: "pretty nice outside" and "a lizard just stared at you from your lanai like you owe him rent."

If you want to enjoy your backyard without being eaten by bugs, you need a screened porch. I’m David, and I run DeBary Screen Repair. As a 100% disabled veteran, I know the value of a peaceful place to rest. My family is neurodivergent—our brains work a little differently—and we take pride in being thorough. We don't just patch holes; we make sure the job is done right.

Keep the Bugs Out, Keep the Fun In

Florida is home to some amazing wildlife, but we don't need that wildlife inside our living rooms. Mosquitoes and no-see-ums (tiny bugs that bite) love Central Florida just as much as we do. When you have a solid, well-repaired screen, you can sit on your porch after a trip to the DeBary Hall Historic Site and actually relax.

You won’t have to swat at your ears every five seconds. You can enjoy the evening breeze without your porch feeling like a buffet for local insects.

A Safe Space for Everyone

Whether you are watching the sun go down after a commute from the SunRail station in DeBary or planning a day trip to New Smyrna Beach, your lanai should be your sanctuary. Screens give you an extra layer of safety. They keep pets inside and pests outside. It’s the perfect place to read a book while the kids play safely, or to just enjoy a quiet moment before running errands at the Deltona Walmart on Howland Blvd.

Low-Stress Maintenance

Sometimes, screens get damaged. It happens! Maybe a storm blew through on its way to the DeLand Artisan Alley, or maybe a rambunctious dog decided to test his strength. Whatever the cause, a torn screen is just a doorway for bugs.

I’m a fourth-generation screen guy. I grew up doing this, and I honestly love it. Fixing screens is my way of keeping our neighborhood comfortable. I am fully licensed (FL license #L23000258525) and proud to be a veteran-owned business. I pay attention to every detail because that is how my brain works.

If your porch near the Gemini Springs or the Sanford Historic District needs some love, I’m your guy.

What Does It Cost?

I believe in being fair and honest. You shouldn't have to guess what a repair will cost. Here is my simple pricing guide for my neighbors in DeBary, Deltona, Orange City, and beyond:

• Pool Cage Wall Panels: $65 each
• Roof Panels: $130 each
• Lanai/Porch/Window Panels: $75 each
• Minimum Service Call: $130

Whether you are closer to the DeBary Farmhouse Inn or out near the Betty Steflik Preserve, I’ll come out and treat your home like my own. I don’t believe in cutting corners. If I’m fixing a screen, it’s going to be tight, clean, and bug-proof.
